2G, or second-generation, refers to the second generation of wireless network technology. It represents the evolution of mobile communication from the initial analog systems (1G) to digital systems. 2G networks introduced several improvements over 1G, including better voice quality, increased capacity, and the ability to support text messaging (SMS).
The two primaries digital 2G technologies are:
GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications)–
GSM is a standard developed by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). It uses a combination of time-division multiple access (TDMA) and frequency-division multiple access (FDMA) to divide the signal into time slots and frequency bands, allowing multiple users to share the same channel without interference.
CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access)–
CDMA is an alternative 2G technology that uses a spread spectrum technique to allow multiple users to share the same frequency band simultaneously. Unlike GSM, which uses time-division for multiple access, CDMA uses a unique code to distinguish between different users.
2G networks provided a significant improvement in terms of efficiency, capacity, and security over their analog predecessors. They paved the way for various mobile services, including not only voice calls but also text messaging and basic data services. However, compared to later generations like 3G, 4G, and 5G, 2G networks have limited data capabilities and slower internet speeds. In many parts of the world, 2G networks have been largely phased out in Favor of newer technologies offering faster data transfer rates and more advanced services.

सुरक्षा–
इसमें सुरक्षा के लिए एनक्रिप्टेड संवाद शामिल है जो उपयोगकर्ताओं की जानकारी को सुरक्षित बनाए रखने में मदद करता है।
SMS (Short Message Service)–
2G नेटवर्क ने टेक्स्ट मैसेज सेवा को शुरू किया, जिससे लोग एक दूसरे को छोटे संदेश भेज सकते थे।
